Imagine

Extra from The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz Using your imagination and your eyes of perception, I want you to see yourself living a new life, a new dream, a life where you don’t need to justify your existence and you are free to be who you really are. Imagine that you have permission to be happy and to really enjoy your life. Your life is free of conflict with yourself and others. Imagine living your life without fear of expressing your dreams. You know what you want, what you don’t want and when you want it.  You are free to change your life the way you really want to. You are not afraid to ask for what you need, to say yes or no to anything or anyone. Imagine living your life without the fear of being judged by others. You no longer rule your behaviour according to what others may think about you. You are no longer responsible for anyone’s opinion. You have no need to control anyone, and no one controls you, either. Imagine living your life without judging others. You can easily forgive others and let go of any judgments that you have. You don’t have the need to be right, and you don’t need to make anyone else wrong. You respect yourself and everyone else, and they respect you in return. Imagine living without the fear of loving and not being loved. You are no longer afraid to be rejected, and you don’t have the need to be accepted. You can say “I love you” with no shame or justification. You can walk in the world with you heart completely open and not be afraid to be hurt.

Go Make Ruckus – By Seth Godin

I thought I would share this with you. Go Make a Ruckus – written by Seth Godin You Are Not Your Career. Your ability to follow instructions is not the secret to your success. You are hiding your best work, your best insight, and your best self from us every day. We know how much you care, and it’s a shame that the system works overtime to push you away from the people and the projects you care about. The world does not owe you a living, but just when you needed it, it has opened the door for you to make a difference. It’s too bad that so much time has been wasted, but it would be unforgivable to wait any longer. You have the ability to contribute so much. We need you, now.  – Go make a Ruckus

My Bicycle Saga! 2

Just over two weeks now and still no sighting of my bicycle. No calls, no ransom notes, not even a Chinese whisper. Local informants have been interviewed and still not one word about my stolen bike. The police have said they could find Lord Lucan quicker. Just in case you have it Lord Lucan please return it and Mums the word as they say. When I’m out walking, I am looking at every bike that passes me. Could this be mine, resprayed and modified just to hide its real identity. What if its fecked against some dirty old wall or lying up a lane way covered in muck. My red bear bell rusting and the squeak gone from my blow horn. I can only imagine and wish for the best, that it is cycling its way across a beautiful field on its way to a wonderful home (with no small kids). There have been rumours of a benefit concert to be held to get me a new bike. To confirm these rumours, I phoned U2, the Rolling Stones and Queens managers, they would not confirm or deny. They were only prepared to provide “no comment at this stage.” P.S I’ll let you know when tickets go on sale. Note to Bike robbing bastard(s) – Admission Restricted

The Outside Does Not Work

We are born from the light within to make a difference Given birth and life to add to our world Curiosity, creativity, all natural in seeking new ways Maturity in life, to be better at all things We meet the light only to be captured by the dark We leave the dark only to enter back into the light Seeing for a short time both sides in a balance of life The darkness grows stronger, by greed, corruption and failing minds Mankind forever changing the balance The light struggles to stay light and show a better way We have choice, we think, yet pressured to surrender to the dark We have free will to make a difference in our balance Go within and find your light For the outside does not work

Not all those who wander are lost

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king J. R. R. Tolkien

The Key to Success is to look after your customers

To remind myself that it is important to continue to develop ones inner child skills, such as, curiosity, fun, honesty and imagination, I went to Canadian Tire and got a new front door key cut, with the image of Mickey Mouse on it. When I got home and tried my new key in the door, for some reason, it would not work.  So, I returned the following day back to Canadian Tire and asked for them to cut the key again from the original key.  That’s when the fun started, the guy cut the key from the wrong key, instead of the original key, now making the original key useless. I now had two keys that would not work and no way of getting back into my house.  To confirm my suspicion, I travelled back to the house and tried the two keys out in the lock. As I expected both keys would not work. I had to call over to the landlord and ask him for another key. Then go all the way back to Canadian Tire, to have the keys re-cut.  A Manager(John) who had seen what had happened earlier, came straight over to me when I returned back into the store. The Manager, could not have being nicer, apologising for the hassle it had caused me. He then re-cut the keys himself and just as I was leaving the store he handed me a gift card and again said, sorry for all the inconvenience caused. Well done John and Canadian Tire, the KEY to success, is looking after your customers

Happy Results from your HR Department.

Why not change the title of the HR Director or HR Manager to the Director or Manager of Happiness. Are they not responsible for the happiness of the people within an organisation? Do we not hear that they hold the role accountable for Human Resources? Where you worked do you know or have you even spoken with your HR Director? If you are the Director or Manager of HR do you sit in your office 90% of your working day? It is my opinion the Director of Happy Results should not be in an office but out where the people are going about their daily work. Does a farmer sit in his/her house when managing the farm or do they get out there where they need to be? Create and measure happiness in your organisation. If you want to change your behaviour change your point of view.

One Year On – Taking Personal Responsibility

I started posting blogs just over one year ago and I am delighted to say that I am still blogging.  I have been told in a kind comment from Evelyn Lim that most bloggers don’t reach the year mark. For me I hope to continue and create many more blogs in the coming years.  Most of all thank you the readers for continuing to visit my website and provide support with your kind comments and suggestions.  They are well received and I look forward to your comments and feedback in the future. One of the most beneficial aspects for me personally is that I am living my blog and making those changes I want to make in my life. Believe in yourself and your dreams and don’t forget to make someone smile today. Please pass on my www.melclifford.com web address just to one new person today as a good recommendation is priceless.  Thank you in advance
