Getting Distracted

Take That Road

Some days I feel I am distracted from what I should be doing in my life.  Having to deal with issues that in the long term don’t really matter to anyone.  We think they do, I feel and know they don’t.  In fifty years time will anyone even speak our name or what we did? On Mondays post I used the words yesterdays news and that is what we may be.

We let ourselves be distracted from the real things that we know deep inside we should be paying attention too. I was reminded about listening again today in a post I read by Angela Artemis.

I must try harder to remind myself everyday to let go of the distractions and listen more to those feelings inside.

  • Hi Mel,
I think we all need to listen more.
We’re all so wrapped up in making our “noise” we don’t hear others very well.
Sometimes I think we’re all just talking at each other –
Perhaps if we did listen more thoughtfully to one another we’d have a less angry and frustrated population?
Thanks so much for linking to my post too.

  • Hi Angela
I agree, listening to others our inner self and our bodies is vital. We all have the tools – yet we fail to use them successfully. A “lesson in listening” should be taught in all schools from a very early age and continued throughout our lives.

Thanks again, your post yesterday prompted the thought.
    Kind Regards
    Mel

  • Hi Mel,

Thanks for the words written, it seems so easy to ” do listening to yourself “, however there are so many distractions popping up you can’t even hear yourself.

  • Hi Klaas,Many thanks for taking the time to both read and comment on my blog post. The issue is to keep listening and try and ignore the distractions. Not easy but achieveable.
    Kind Regards
    Mel
